In Chapter 2, God’s warnings now focus on the nations surrounding Israel because of their hatred of the Jewish people. Pastor Kevin shows how yet again there was a near fulfillment by the Babylonians, and will be a far fulfillment, in wars yet future to us. In Chapter 3, God again warns Judah of impending judgment but closes this amazing, timely book with by promising salvation to the faithful remnant: “The Lord has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; You shall see disaster no more” (Zephaniah 3:15 NKJV).
As we see these same nations once again threatening the Israel’s existence today, just as Zephaniah foretold 2600 years ago, we can be sure that God will fulfill His promises to Israel as He has in the past.
